Tanning...???

I live in Southern California and it's soooo pretty today!! I am 5 months pregnant and finally called in sick just because I wanted a day to myself. I work full time, go to school full time...I just wanted a day to relax. I am thinking of going down to the beach and laying out. Is being in the sun okay???
Tanning...???
You should be fine for short periods of time throughout your whole pregnancy. Our bodies naturally need sunshine, and it is said when you are further along that the baby can actually see the sun through your abdomen. I used sunscreen during my pregnancy just to prevent a burn. A burn is bad enough on its own but during pregnancy would be horrible. No tanning beds at all. Enjoy the sun shine, I found it helped me with my morning sickness to sit in the sun. Good luck.
Tanning...???
yes it will be fine, i lived at the beach my last pregnancy, and wearing a bikini
Reply:well, doc's don't really recommend a lot of sun, b/c during pregnancy, your temps are usually higher than your normal temps already, so they don't want you to have any heat stroke or hot flashes and such. i think though that a little sun won't hurt. but do wear sunscreen. that's why they don't recommend hot tubes and saunas either. it's more for your protection, in case you get too hot and faint or something. enjoy your day. congrats on baby.
Reply:Use some sun screen. Actually sun gives you vitamins too. ONly protect yourself with SPF and you can enjoy the day in the sun. I did it and guess what I have two healthy beautiful children who I also let enjoy the sun with sunscreen.
Reply:No. You might run into your boss or a co-worker.
Reply:Drink lots of water to keep hydrated and wear sunscreen. Enjoy the sun!
Reply:Pregnant or not, the risk of skin cancer is always there.
Reply:If you like the look of cancerous lesions.
