How can I get the darkest tan from tanning in a tanning bed? What are some of the best indoor tanning lotions out there? I have bought a bottle of Swedish Beauty - Sinful... cause that's what I used years ago... but I'm not sure of other kinds. I don't want my tan to fade within a month... I want a long lasting tan. Should I use a moisturizer? What is a good moisturizer? What process should I follow?... should I shower before I go tan?... or after?... or both? I want to know what you expert tanners do! Thanks so much for your help!
What are some tips for tanning indoors?
i recommend using the "tingle" tanning lotions...these help push u over the tanning plateau that u reach after tanning for a while...in other words, when u think you`ve gotten as dark as u can possibly get, if u start using the tingle lotions u will be able to notice a real difference in how dark u become...i have used these type of lotions exclusively for 5+ years, even for outdoor tanning, %26amp; i wouldn`t consider using anything else,,,be careful, tho, cuz u need to have a good base tan developed before using the tingle stuff, otherwise they will burn the bejesus out of u, they are very strong!!! always keep your skin exfoliated %26amp; moisturized because it helps u tan better %26amp; retain your color longer...the exfoliation gets rid of the dead skin cells that can make your tan appear dull, %26amp; moisturized skin tans better...i usually shower after tanning, but i`m not sure it matters, as i have showered before as well %26amp; didn`t see a marked difference in how i tanned or kept the color...swedish beauty makes good tingle lotions, %26amp; also pro tan, as well as fiesta sun...fiesta sun produces a good after-tan moisturizer, it used to be called "git `r` done", but this year they reformulated it %26amp; changed the name, %26amp; i`m sorry, but i can`t remember the new name...your local tanning salon can probably help u as far as explaining the various products %26amp; their benefits...hope all this helps!!! happy tanning!!!

Why do you want a dark tan? If it has to be indoors, then don't do a tanning bed, its so bad for your skin. Just stick to lotions.
Reply:I wouldn't reccommend tanning at all. You will get skin cancer. I have several family members who have had it just from normal sun exposure.
Reply:One of the best self tanners I know is by Estee Lauder. It's pricey but it doesn't turn your skin yellow. It looks very natural if you apply it correctly. First exfolite or use a good scrub with a gel or grainy cleanser and a washcloth. Scrub hard on elbows, knees, and heels, BUT when you apply the tanner on your skin, make sure you aplly tanner with about a drop of your favorite body moisturizer( like dove) mixed in to elbows, heels and knees or these areas will absorb too much tanner and become very dark very fast. Follow this procedure daily like the package directions suggest and then every 3-4 days as needed. Happy SAFE tanning. No harssh sun rays to damage your skin. www.Beautispaskincare.com
Reply:Well the best tanning lotions to buy are the ones at the salon and of course the more expensive the better. The girls there will know what lotion you should use based on your skin tone.
Also you don't need to shower right before or after that will not help. (Some say not to shower for at least 2 hours after because you could affect the results, like you could wash it off or something but I think this is false as well)
Yes you need to moisturize to help your skin hold the tan longer. I suggest apply regular lotion once or twice a day like after you shower and before bed. Again just a good lotion will work.
As far as how to get the most out of your tan I suggest you get a good base tan first then cut back on your visits. To get a base tan you should go 2 or 3 times a week then once you get the color you want cut back to 1 or 2 times a week to maintain the color. I also suggest you vary the beds you lay in. I lay in the regular most of the time but every 4th visit I go the the stand up bed. If you do this it will help get you darker and keep you dark.
