What's the best way to lay in a tanning bed? I've been going just over a month and my legs, arms, and sides of my stomach aren't getting as tan. I've been using the stand ups more frequently, but my tan still isn't even. I've tried the tingle lotions as well, but my skin is sensitive and has reactions to the tingle. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Tanning beds...?
Hey baby! I have a tanning bed and tan often myself (obviously, haha). So here's my advice: First off, your stomach is the area of your body that tans the easiest. Your sides, underarms/breast crease area, and legs are the most difficult. I lay 1/4 the time on my back with arms at my side; 1/4 the time on my back with arms up; 1/4 on each side with arms up (uncomfortable, but it tans that spot where your breast wants to slide over when you're on your back. Not sure if you have this problem but I'm a 34FF and do). With this combination I've been able to achieve a line-less tan. Well, except for the little one between my **** and the top of my thighs but I have a solution in mind for that as well! If I were you, I would wear a tank top the next few times you go. That way your stomach will be covered and you can give your legs/sides/arms time to catch up with your stomach.
As far as the lotions go, it doesn't sound like you're tolerating the tingle well at all. It's *definitely* not for everyone, so you're not alone there at all. The lotions with bronzers are cool if you tan in the morning/afternoon but if you tan at night when you're going straight home they're kind of a waste since no one will see your instantly bronzed look. I don't know what your price range is, but if it's high John Abate %26amp; Designer Skin offer some *wonderful* lotions ($35-60, halfprice of that online). Emerald Bay is a company that I'm in love with their products. They have a line of about 10-12 lotions that are all very reasonably priced yet still do what they're supposed to. You can find them online on discount lotion sites for $9.99 a bottle. I would try one just plain accelerator (I use Tan 'n Tonic but Malibu Mimosa smells yummy too), a bronzer one for if you're tanning in the morning/afternoon (I use Bronzing Blizzard; it actually does the opposite of a tingle, gives you a nice cooling sensation all over but not at all overpowering, plus the bronzing benefit and the smell is nice). Bottled Blonde is regular accelerator (no tingle or anything) with some shimmer to it. Oh, did I mention all these Emerald Bay products come with a cute little keychain attached to the bottles? Check out: http://www.lotioncentral.com/Emerald_Bay... for the lotions.
And PLEASE feel free to email me if you have any more questions or need any advice from a veteran tanner. Best of luck to you gorgeous!
Tanning beds...?
Most people I know lie on their backs. The way the lights are set up in tanning beds you're guaranteed an even tan. It could be possible however that some pigmentation in your skin could be causing your uneven tan. It's in your genetics, and there's really nothing that can be done about it. The only thing would be to enhance your natural skin color by using certain over the counter lotions. (Not the fake tans, I forget what they're called though).
