Tanning beds?!??

is there anyway i can go to a tanning bed, be protected from cancer, but still get a tan. if i wear sun block when i am in the bed will i still get a tan? thanks!! i really need a tan big time! i get made fun of in school for how pale i am. i look sickly white. i dont do the tanning lotions (bad experiences). but i am scared that i will get cancer and die. my cousin recently passes away from skin cancer. she never used protection tho.

thankss!!!
Tanning beds?!??
No you can't be protected %26amp; get a tan....even with sunscreen..any tan is a sign of skin damage. I hated to hear that too, I love the look of a tan. Have you tried a mystic tan? I have had good luck with those for events. I went to a tanning salon before my wedding , I used sunscreen (a 15 spf) and the girl put me on a supposedly "low dose" bed...I GOT FRIED and was in so much pain, my back peeled terribly! I am fair skinned but I do tan .

Anyway, try using a daily "build up your color" sunscreen ..these take some time but will give you enough of a base while protecting your skin , then use a little bit of bronzers for a sun kissed look. If you are so pale to start with, this is the best idea for you. You just can't get a deep tan to maintain on a daily basis without getting damage. You don't want to look older than your age a few years from now do you?? GO FOR THE GLOW and you'll look better and NATURAL! Hope this helps.
Tanning beds?!??
There is no safe way to use a tanning bed, their UV rays are like 2 or 3 times stronger than natural light. You might want to try mystic tan or some other spray on. You can get them from almost any tanning salon, they look really natural, and are completely safe.
Reply:you cant only way of not geting skin cancer

try a spray on tan i heard they work good

if you dont want to get skin cancer so try that

or the tanning bed.
Reply:i worked at a tanning salon years ago, people do use a mild sunblock at times and you still will tan, remember the tanning bed is way stronger than the sun.go for like 5 to 10 minutes at first without any lotion and work your way up to the 15 minutes usually allowed, have them tell you your skin type and they should let you know whats safe for you the first couple times in,once you have a nice base tan you can go in longer,if you are going to use a sun-block show it to them cause many lotion will wreck the beds, thats why they want you to buy the ones they have, oils are no good for beds it dulls the acryllics, look for a place that has stand up bed so your not lying on the bulbs directly if your sensitive to sun.if your really pale the recoomended time in for the fist time is like 5min,then work your way up.good luck, and to those how pick on you shame on them
Reply:Firstly, really sorry to hear about your cousin secondly i know you said you don't want to hear it but don't ever let bullies change you, even the way you look. Do it for yourself these people are horrible making fun of you there is nothing wrong with pale skin at all. I suffered from acne and was obsessed with wearing make up to make sure that you couldn't see any spots so i can kind of relate to how you feel. My advise is persevere with the lotions remember to exfoliate really well and make sure you rub it in well in areas like your neck, elbows and wrists. When you look close enough most people with fake tan on have a few streaks even with a real tan you get some. If you really must use a tanning bed wear sunblock and a lot of it often sunbeds don't agree with people with pale skin so be really careful. You are always at risk of skin cancer if you don't use protection. If you can afford then speak to your parents and see if they would let you visit a salon where they will professionally apply the fake tan for you it's around 拢20. There is far too much pressure on looks at school just focus on doing the things that make you happy. Trust me when you get to college having a tan wont be that important you'll be having way too much fun to care.
Reply:sORRY Bout your cousin! But just stay away from it!
