Tanning after pregnancy effect skin elasticity?

Im 31 weeks... white as my walls and am dying to start tanning again after I have the baby but I was just told by someone that since my belly will be so streched out that I shouldnt tan till I lose the baby weight bc tanning will make my skin less elastic. Is that true? Is it just bc it dries your skin? If so does that mean it wont make a difference as long you moisturize?

I would "spray tan". Less damage to your skin with a healthy glow. Do you seriously want to look like an old mom?? :) Definitely watch the elasticity, when your skin tans it's your skin mutating to protect itself against the harmful rays.

If your skin just was stretched out--it might be less likely to recover (stretch marks!).

Good luck!

I have heard both sides.. that it is good for you and bad! But I would say that if you think logically about it, it would be a good thing! Just make sure you stay moisturized! The light in the tanning booths mimic the sun, you still get the same vitamins from them that rejuvenate the skin! Good Luck!
Reply:I tanned pretty quickly after having my child and I do not think it effected my elasticity. Just make sure you moisturize before and after. If you are worried about it try a spray tan or self tanner. Aveeno has a good one out right now!
Reply:Tanning makes your skin less elastic period. Doesn't matter if you just had a baby or not. I've seen many 50 and 60 year old women only to find out that they were only in their 40s. It will catch up with you.
