I want your opinion on tanning while pregnant!?

Ok, I work at a tanning salon and my doctor said said I should not tan in a tanning bed or spray tan, my bosses doctor said she can tan just not in a high pressure tanning bed! Has anyone on here tanned while pregnant? What are your opinions or experiences?
I want your opinion on tanning while pregnant!?
No you can NOT tan at all during pregnancy.

No tanning salon will let women who are pregnant tan, unless the woman is not showing and the workers dont know she is.

It says right on the posters they have around salons, to NOT TAN during pregnancy. Your boss' doctor sounds like a moron because I cant think of anyone that would say its ok to tan while pregnant.

If your doctor told you not to then DON'T. It really isn't a safe idea. The reason is because the tanning beds get way too hot and raise your core temperature. It's the same reason why you are told to stay out of hot tubs while pregnant. Too much heat is not good for your baby! If you MUST be tan use a spray on or lotion.
Reply:What is more important frying your skin, or your babies health????!!!! Are you that vain that you need to ask?
Reply:why would you tan while pregnant? no one wants to see a pregnant woman in a bikini. especially an orange one.
Reply:I would never tan while being pregnant no matter what. I used to tan often before I became pregnant but stopped when I found out.
Reply:I'd have to agree with your doctor. I don't know why you'd want to risk your babies health for the sake of your appearance
Reply:i got married when i was about 14 weeks and i was going to have a trial for my spray tan when i was about 10 weeks and the girl who works there and was going to do my tan for me rang me and said she found out that its not the best thing to do when your under 12 weeks because of the fumes, but i still had my spray tan when i got married, the fake tans are fine but i def wouldnt be baking myself in the beds, you shouldnt use them anyway, there was a girl here in australia that died from skin cancer that she got from using the solarium now there are warnings everywhere that you shouldnt use them.
Reply:i dont think you should tan if your doctor said not to

he knows best

put your baby first, not vanity

Reply:I would'nt risk it. It would be worse than getting into a hot bath with can be fatal to an unborn baby.
Reply:I haven't used the sun bed for 8 mth as I'm 8mth preg (i feel %26amp; look pale) I was told you shouldn't use the sunbed due to the change in hormones there's a chance that you will tan but also be very blotchy, also they advised me not to use the sun bed untill my baby was 6 weeks old due to hormones getting back to normal. they didn't say if it would harm the baby!!
Reply:I wouldnt use the sunbed, but I have read in several pregnancy mags that theres nothing wrong with using some fake tan, as it only goes on the top layer of your skin, test it first though as your skin may be a bit more sensetive than usual. I use a light self tanner on my face if im feeling pale an im almost 32 weeks.
Reply:I understand as a women you want to look good. Even more so when you are pregnant and you may be feeling down.

I have heard of the problems sunbeds can cause, and it isnt a wise idea as it can effect the childs growth and eyesight.

Also the first 3 months is a crucial stage.

Fake tans tend to look fake and go orange but I reckomend Johnsons moisteriser- holiday skin. Apply maybe 2/3 times a week and you will look tanned.
