Tanning Dilemma?

at the beginning of the summer, I went tanning twice a week, for about a month, in a bed for about 15 minutes. That provided me with a nice base tan for the summer.

then summer came and I started working outside, so I stopped going tanning, since I was getting a nice tan at work all day.

well, now I'm back to working inside and my tan has faded dramatically. I want my tan to be back to what it was over the summer, but I don't want to look orange.

I've tried the gradual tanning lotions, and after 2 weeks they make me look yellow, far from the shade I would like to be

is a tanning bed my best option now? or does a booth yield better results? also, how well do the tanning bed lotions work?

I have pretty light skin, and would just like to not be pasty white all winter.

thanks!

What I do is around Feb I start out at 3 time a week, once I get a base tan I go down to twice a week. After July I go down to once a week throughout the fall and winter. So, yes the tanning bed is the best for this time of the year. The best lotion you can buy are the ones they sell at the salon. They will know what will be best for your skin type. It is also important to keep your skin well moisturized, especially while tanning in the winter. Happy Tanning!

I'd say just stick to your regular color.. All that stuff your doing to your skin will harm your skin in the long run.
Reply:tanning is bad for your skin!

before you know it your skin is going to look like leather and you will look 10 years older then you are!
Reply:Dont tan in the winter, people who are really tan in the winter look funny. give your skin a break and start again in the spring.
Reply:You'll ruin your skin!!!

And who cares? It looks unnatural to be a carrot in the winter

(not like it doesn't in the summer..)

You don't have to listen to me, but if you keep tanning at the rate you're going, chances are your skin will be like orange leather by the time you're 30.

If you still insist, try some self tanner from a more natural and less crude makeup line, like Almay or Neutrogena.
Reply:Try Clarins bronzing gel. I use it and it's not streaky at all. It's gel based so it goes into your skin fast and you can dress immediately afterwards. I use it before bed for a nice even tan when i wake up.

PS. Ive used it on my face also and he never broken out from it.
Reply:I would say your best bet would be to just do what you did before, tan very minimally.

The spray on tans can look nice depending on where you get them done and what product they use. I go to a place in Dallas called Planet Tan.

I used the first level mystic tan, and was tan..basically just a healthy glow. Later I had a special occasion and did the next shade up and I was DARK. Like super dark, it looked good though- I wasn't orange.

Just know that the spray on is a lot of maintenance...moisturizing, exfoliating, and getting it redone every week or so. I would at least try it once, many tanning places have coupons for a free trial.

Good luck!
