I'm a "strawberry blonde" redhead (meaning my hair looks both blonde and a light red at the the same time, not ginger red though!) and I'd like to get a tan. I'd rather do a natural tan as Tanning Beds seem more dangerous.
My legs, arms (not including biceps), neck and face are all pretty tan, but the rest of my body isn't. I have a pretty defined T-Shirt tan line you could say. In the last few years, I haven't gone to a lot of pools or beaches with my shirt off to get a good tan so my chest/back/biceps are very pale.
I just want a presentable tan, you know, so I can walk around at the pool without feeling embarassed. I'm not afraid to burn a little bit. And I'd rather not get a lecture on UV ray damage. I
What are some tips to tan for someone such as myself? Any good tanning lotions? Whats a typical tanning session? Outside my window, its about 75-80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, at that rate, how long do you think it would take to see results? Thank you!

Before going tanning please read up on the statistics about skin cancer. I am complected like you and go to be checked regularly because we are severely prone to skin cancer and anyone who has been sunburned, even just once, increases their chances by 50%.
Self tanners work fine and with our hair color tans look awkward anyhow. Exposing your skin to UVA and UVB rays out of sheer vanity is not worth it. It will age you quickly and damage your skin.
Don't be another fake and bake sheep. Bust out the sunblock and keep in mind that pale is healthy and many people find it attractive.

go to a beach or outdoor pool. where there is either nobody there or a ton of people.
nobody so they won't see ur shirt line. and a ton of people so they won't notice u.
just sit their with sunscreen on. sunscreen is so u wont get burnt, not so u won't get tan.
sit there for 40 minutes at a time. don't sit or lie there too long. after 40 mins go to the shade for 5 mins and then go back where the sun is.
good luck on taning!
