I have a interview at a tanning salon tomorrow. I have previous experience and am very well qualified, but I am nervous because I am really really pale. If I do get the job I will start tanning, but im nervous I will not get the job because I am so pasty. I dont have time to get any color before the interview because it is in 24 hours and I dont want to spray tan. My question is, do you think that being pale will hurt my chances of getting the job?
Tanning interview question?
I have no experience with tanning salons, but I can tell you that being confident, professional, and friendly has a lot more to do with getting a job than does your coloring.
If your color comes up, make a little joke about it and go on with the interview.
Take a deep breath, be yourself, and get that job! : -)
Tanning interview question?
Yes, possibly. I work for a distributor for salons, and most if not all salons want that gal in the front as tan as can be!
Remember, you're selling the tans and lotions, not the products themselves. People want to know, "What did you use?" Or, possibly, "I don't want what you used, because it ain't working."
You get my drift. I'd go tanning before.
Reply:No... I use to manage a salon, and how pale you are had nothing to do with hiring the person.... Usually they tell me "Oh, I have been tight on cash so I havent been able to tan like I would like to, do I get free tanning while I work here"... you could say that, if you are afraid that they will think you being pale might not be good for business...
Reply:Do you really want a job where you're encouraged to tan yourself right into leatheriness and cancer? You'd like to look 10 - 15 years older than you actually are? Sounds good. (Not.)
