Tanning salon?

Hi. I want to get a tan, but work has taken up most of my time. I was thinking of going to a tanning salon. Is it safe? Does it really help? would you see the effect right away? How long will the tan last? Does anyone know a good but cheap one?
Tanning salon?
I was an outdoor tanner for years and then a couple years ago was introduced to the indoor tanning experience. I learned that tanning 15min every other day the first week and then 20 minutes twice to three times a week was enough. Not only do you get a nice tan front and back, but it helps you to relax and it is not as dangerous as laying outside in the sun for 3 to 4 hours!! To maintain your tan and keep it, as well as keeping your skin smooth and not as prone to wrinkles, mosturize everyday. Do this after you shower and after you tan. Use tanning lotioins made only for tanning beds that contain mosturizer and use those made with less bronzer to get your own natural tan. Once you have the color you like, maintain it by tanning about twice a week and dont forget to tan for those special occasions like Valentines, weddings, proms, etc.

I now own a tanning salon in Alabama and most of my clients use it for medical purposes, arthritic pain, muscle cramps, stress relief, and my husband uses it to help with his muscles since he has lyme and it has caused his muscles to stiffen up.

You should check out your local salons and ask for their visit specials and try them. Cheap is good but Expensive doesnt mean its better either. I found thorough my experience that most of my clients could never come everyday for the monthly fee and were losing out. We do visit packages for them now, and even offer friend and family packs. Make sure you feel comfortable were ever you decide to go and that they do conform to health regulations for that state. Clean beds and saftey is the #1 rule for my salon and allowing the client to feel they can relax and get away from the hustle of the outside.

( a good rule to remember is never tan with makeup on, don't use baby oils and lotions made for outside use, always use a good lotion made for beds with mosturizer and never over do the tanning-10 minutes or less to start and never go over 20 a day) and always wear goggles!!

Did you know that having a tan actually helps give you a more slimming look?

Treat yourself to some rest and relaxation even if you do it just once.

Happy Tanning!!!
Tanning salon?
not the safest thing and it takes llike an hour it depends
Reply:Artificial tanning isn't healthy. Neither is natural tanning. it can lead to skin cancer. if you want to look tan and have a nice glow, try mosturizing sprays and creams. a dab of bronzer on your forhead and cheekbones works wonders
Reply:Using a tanning machine at a salon is no safer than being outside in the sun -it may even be less safe, and it does increase risk of skin cancer. The safest way would be using tanning lotion of some type; that might also be available at a tanning salon, or most stores.
Reply:too many questions for me to answer, but yes, yes, yes, 1 week, no
Reply:Yeah um bad idea. Tanning salons are really obvious and you usually end up looking orange and fake and ....ew. Im naturally really pale and I used to consider that but now...no way. Also the radiation is really bad for you: radiation is the same thing used for treating brain tumors and such and sometimes people end up a lot lets say...dumber after too much radiation. I'm sure nothing as bad as that will happen from a tanning salon but please, dont do it. Try going to the pool or laying outside for atleast an hour every Saturday and Sunday. The results will be a lot better, I promise.
Reply:It's really not good for you. I love going tanning, but i don't because it really prematurely ages you. I'm sure you've seen the people whose skin look like leather. not cute. there have also been studies that show it can become addictive, for real! and if you still want to go, no you won't see an affect right away (you usually have to go multiple times, like everyday for 5 days) How long it lasts varies on your skin type.
Reply:no tanning salons are not safe. it is bad for ur skin. you will get lots of wrinkles when ur older if u tan a but im not sure if that applys for fake tanning or not. salon tanning looks fake even if it is expensive. u will wind up looking like lindsay lohan awhile ago. she wus like orange it wus gross
Reply:I think melissa is right!
Reply:I personally think that dermatologists and other doctors exaggerate the effects of going to a tanning salon. Yes it can cause skin cancer and wrinkles when you're older but thats usually only in people who go tanning like once a week. Going every once in a while shouldnt hurt (this is just my opinion).
Reply:VERY BAD IDEA!!! The salon will tell you they use only UVA or UVB rays (can't remember) and this doesn't go as deep into your skin and doesn't cause cancer....LIE...big lie; it CAN (and will) cause cancer and photoaging. When you are 20, a tan looks great; at 40, not so much.
