Tanning during pregnancy?

what methods are safe for tanning while pregnant? I'm in a wedding and was planning on just going to a tanning salon until I found out about the baby. Can I go tanning salons, use sprays or lotions, etc?

No Lee e. You can't bake the baby! what a ridiculous statement. Report It

Reply:Go to the tanning salon, but take it real slow. The UV can't hurt the baby, but I'm not so sure about the chemicals.
Reply:I wouldn't do just because I wouldn't want to take a chance of anything happening to the baby. I would consult with your obgyn first.
Reply:Nooooooo!!!!!!! Don't do anything that would be harmful to you alone, let alone you AND your unborn baby! Talk to your OB about what you can use....like the lotions. GOod luck!
Reply:I'd say use sunless tanner. I'm a natural red head and burn by just stepping foot outside! I use Jergens Natural Glow and look like I've been tanning for weeks! It's not orange, streaky, nor does it look fake. Give it a try...it's better to be safe than sorry!
Reply:NO dont tan cause the baby is going to get this heat and the light that may damage him brain..can u not wait till u delever
Reply:i believe the uv rays can't hurt the baby , but keep your body temp below 100 degrees or you risk miscarrage. i suggest always going less than 10 mins using the older weaker beds, and not using a bed that was just used d/t increased heat
Reply:They say it's ok to use a tanning bed with caution while pregnant mainly because you don't want to raise your core body temperature too high. For these same reasons is why they tell you to exercise caution with hot tubs, hot baths, etc. Make your sessions shorter than you normally would and be sure to pop yourself out of there if you start feeling even a little too hot. If I were you...I would sit on the side of the tanning bed with a chair (they usually have one in there) and stick my legs in to tan them all by themselves....and for your upper body you'll have to get all the way in, but just make it a shorter time than normal.
Reply:You have to get your doctor's permission to tan in a bed during pregnancy, but depending on what stage of pregnancy you are in, the heat (not the UV rays) can be a major issue. Mystic tans (spray on tans) are safe for pregnant women (some salons may still require a doctor's note) and will probably be your best bet because you want to stay on the safe side! Just go to the Mystic website and read the info so you can make an informed decision!
Reply:No you might bake your baby
