my daughter is taking concerta 36mg a day. her doctor said that she needs to go to a tanning bed to help with her mood swings. I have never heard of a doctor telling somebody to go to a tanning bed especially when they are on a medication. should I make her a tanning appointment she is only 11 years old

Actually the UV lighting increases the production of melanin, which can indeed improve your daughter's mood. If you're worried about the tanning aspects though, you could try getting her an OTT lamp (available at department stores) or an all-natural light lamp that provides rays similar to the sun outdoors.

no i wouldnt. i would consult another doctor. because tanning does not help with mood swings. so call around and ask a couple doctors their oppinions. especially if she's 11.
