Tanning beginner?

I've never gone tanning at a salon before. Do you need to use the oil and lotions? Are there ways to ensure an even tan? are you supposed to rotate and move to get other areas covered? What are your best tips for new tanners? (and don't tell me tanning is bad for me, im well aware of the risks, im an adult, i can make my own decisions.)

-Use some sort of lotion or oil...but not a sunblock. (cuz, what's the point if you're going to block it?) You want the oil to keep your skin moist.

-Ramp up the # of minutes that you do. Most places make you take a written test to determine skin sensativity. I'd say to start out less than they recommend, and go from there. You're better off feeling that you could have done more, than feeling like you burned yourself.

-Don't go more than once every 24 hours.

-Most people can fit into a standard bed, and don't really need to move around much. But if your arms touch your sides when you sit in the bed, you might want to move them a bit, to keep tanning evenly.

-If you sit in a bed, make sure you don't get the "crescents" where your leg meets your backside.

-I recommend stand up booths, but they cost a bit more.

You need buy an indoor tanning lotion from the salon....you will tan faster and more even. Get something w a bronzer for a lil instant color. Start out slow because if you get a burn it actually slows the tanning process. Try to go 3 days in a row , if you arent pink, this brings the melanin to the surface so you will tan quicker. Happy Tanning!!
