Tanning necessary?

I'm my friends MOH for her wedding in January and I'm kind of stressing because I don't have the money this close to the holidays to tan for the wedding. I'm afraid the Bride is going to be mad if we don't. Personally I kind of think it would be stupid for us (the bridesmaids) to tan anyways since it's a winter wedding...I think we would look kind of weird. Should I be responsible for going tanning?
Tanning necessary?
Did the Bride really say she would be mad if you weren't tanned? That sounds a bit (and I do hate the term..!) 'Bridezilla-ish! lol

I really don't think that whether or not you are tanned will matter! I'd rather not risk being 'orange' myself!! (You are talking about fake/spray tanning aren't you??) :o)

I think whether or not you go with the tan is your own personal decision.

You will look beautiful anyway!
Tanning necessary?
Not at all. Has the bride said anything about you tanning? It is entirely your choice. If you can't afford it right now, then don't do it.
Reply:Absolutely not! If the bride wants you to go to a tanning salon, she can pay for it. I wouldn't whether she wanted me to or not because of the health risks involved with tanning salons. There's nothing wrong with not being tan and being in a wedding.
Reply:Personally, I wouldn't tan anyway, it's horrible for your skin. I would ask the bride, but I'd say if she wants you guys to tan, then she should foot the bill for it. Getting a tan is over and beyond what you would normally expect for a wedding expenditure.
Reply:Don't tan. That's stupid. Instead, use Neutrogena micromist tanning spray. I used it before my brother's wedding last summer and actually looked more natural than the girls who had fake baked! The stuff is only about $10 and you just spray on a light mist and wait 5 minutes. You don't have to rub it in or anything.
Reply:1. What she's "asking" you to do is dangerous.

2. What she's "asking" you to do is pushy

3. What she's "asking" you to do sounds bossy

4. You WILL look ridiculous

That whole bit of "it's her wedding" only goes so far....she can pick your dresses...and your hair (is she's paying)...but your skin tone?! Come on girl!

For her to "get mad" because you don't go tanning is appalling. If she asks if you will be tanning for her wedding, smile sweetly and say, "You pay, you have a say!" *jokingly* of course ;)

Good luck, she sounds like a Bridezilla!
Reply:The natural look is better than all of you looking like you've been varnished.
Reply:If the bride requests something special like tanning, a manicure, or pedicure, she must pay for it.

Otherwise, just be yourself.
