I just learned that I am 5 weeks pregnant. However, I have been tanning in a tanning booth. Is this going to affect my baby???
Tanning????
i can understand your concern because i would feel the same way. there really is no way of knowing if or how this has affected your child. the only one thing for certain is that you are pregnant and you should stop tanning immediately (and this includes tanning in natural sunlight). try not to worry about it too much hunny because what's done is done. but if you're concerned i would talk to a Dr. because they would have the best answer probably for you. you can ask them at your first prenatal visit!!! (which you should be making an appointment for soon if you havent already! )
i would also advise against self-tanners as was mentionned in a previous post...just because you're not sure of the chemicals in the cream that you're rubbing on to your skin.. hope this helps!
Tanning????
No I was tanning until about 4-5 weeks pregnant too. I was actually at the beach for a week drinking and tanning every day. I found out I was pregnant 2 days after vacation.
I just gave birth to a 8 pound baby boy last week.
You will be fine, just stop know and use a self tanner instead. After my first trimester I used Mystic Tan
Reply:Doctors say not to be in any place too hot for too long, like a hot tub. So I would say it could. I guess it can make the baby's environment too hot and it can cause a miscarriage. So I would advise against it, but check with your doctor.
Reply:Probably not, but don't continue. No risky behaviour, however slight the risk.
Reply:I doubt it. Check with your doctor. And...stop tanning! Having a child will help you realize a tan body is not worth the time or wrinkles and long term damage. (Skin cancer, aging, etc.) You might try spray tanning-much safer.
Good luck!
