Okay so I am a natural red head, and of course I have the pale skin. I really want to be a little more tan, I don'e want to be real dark, just have a tan. Is there any way of going about this?
Tanning???
Spray on tan. You being a redhead likely have a predisposition for skin cancer so be careful. Actually a fair skinned redhead is considered to be quite attractive in most countries.b
Tanning???
Self tanning lotions.
Reply:go to the beach and get a tan =]
Reply:tanning sprays, gel, lotions or towelettes
Reply:Tanning is bad for you and increases your risk of getting skin cancer, don't do it, and be happy with who you are on the inside.
Reply:I heard on the radio this morning that the AMA (Amer. Med. Assoc.) just addressed that very issue. Their conclusion is that there is no such thing as a safe tan. Period. Everyone should use sunblock (SPF15 is ok for most people) liberally %26amp; often, but that doesn't give you permission to stay in the sun longer than you have to. While many people (including myself) like to have at least a slight bit of color, the AMA is telling us that ANY tan is damaging to your skin in the long run. They've also said in the past that tanning beds are no safer than the sun. I don't know for a fact, but I would think that spray-on tans may be a safer alternative. Hope that helps...
Reply:I use and suggest using Neutrogena summer glow daily mosturizer. It gradual builds a healthy glow on just about every skin color. It also doesn't turn you orange. YAY! Just apply it daily and apply it evenly all over your body and it will build up a nice healthy tan. It also has SPF20 so if you are out in the sun you won't get burnt. It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth too. Hope that helps!
Reply:of course there is. Just because you are a pale skinned individual DOES NOT mean you are unable to get a tan. did you know tanning is the body's natural defense against a sunburn? Now, tanning indoors or outdoors are two completely different things. Indoor tanning is more efficient due to it being in a controlled environment where YOU get to decide how much exposure is good for you and what not. Also, the tanning salon specialist can very well help you decide how long AND which lotion is best for you depending on your skin type. Outdoor tanning is NOT in a controlled environment and can increase the risk of getting a sunburn quicker and more intense. Check out any of your local tanning salons and talk it over with the salon employee. Most tanning beds are at a 20 min max. Many people of your skin type start out at a low min range then gradually increase as the days go by. Starting out at five min a day would be great for you NOT to burn and for your body to start producing more melanin in your skin to build your base tan. Then, as more days go by increase your number by 2 minutes and on and on etc. Be sure to use tanning lotion to increase the production of melanin for quicker longer lasting results. "DESIGNER SKIN" tanning lotions are recommended when tanning indoors due to them having bronzers and ingredients keeping your skin moisturized when tanning leaving your skin smooth and soft and reducing the risk of wrinkling and crackling of the skin. Now, these products are not cheap so beware. I tell everyone that comes in that buying a tan is not cheap. But, if you are willing to spend a little over fifty dollars to get what you want! then, why not. give a try. what have you got to lose? a tan or your self esteem? Hope this advice works out for you!
Also, "Pastvarient" has no idea what he is talking about because he, like many others, have just heard to hazards due to tanning. Many people of the ordinary step outside and are exposed to natural UV light. Think of it this way - If you told everyone that water drowns you, we'd stop drinking water. We need water to survive Just like sunlight. i know there are rare cases of diseases where people cannot be exposed to sunlight what soever but that is a rare uncommon skin disease within different cultures. I am half Latino and do you ever hear of south Americans dying of skin cancer because the sun shines more often on their part of the world making them darker skinned then everyone else here in America? - No. Mexicans have a NATURAL dark skin due to their skin producing more melanin than anyone else. Like, African-Americans. They work in coffee bean Fields and are exposed to UV light eights hours of the day five days a week. So just stop because you have no idea what you're talking about. so in conclusion, Pastvarient needs to shut his mouth. But I do agree with his comment about being yourself. That is great advice. Everyone is different. Do what you want.
