Tanning??????
Girl, I hate to tell you but with your gorgeous red hair you are destined to burn :( be careful and use sunscreen..maybe you will go a shade or two darker but not much. That is exciting that your moving to Africa!
Tanning??????
You know what, i like being tanned too, but i am a bit naturaly darker than you probably by only 4 or 5 shades, but your whitness is pure, its really nice. Trust me be happy with what you have. And you will go brown if you use sunscrean stuff, if you dont you will go red, burn, blister and then peal and be white again after all that agro. Trust me use sun protection creams and you will go brown naturally which is what your skin needs.

Reply:I am pale, too. Not quite as pale as you, but Irish/Celtic fair. (Grandma from Ireland..no tan.) You WILL tan some, but not much. ALWAYS use sunscreen. The tan as a young person is NOT worth the cancer later.
Reply:My step-sister has the same skin tone as you. Everytime we go to the beach, she gets burned. She does not get tan. She has tried. We go a lot. I would make sure you use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
Reply:You just need to step into it gradually. Because you are so fair, always use a good sunscreen.

I would suggest going out in the sun for five minutes for a couple of days, then 10 minutes for a couples of days, etc. This way you will build up a tolerance to being out in the sun.

If you just go out full force for hours at a time, you're sure to get burnt.

So just take it slow and after a while you won't have to worry about getting burnt everytime you're out in the sun. You might not have a tropical tan, but that's ok. I think fair skin is beautiful.
Reply:I am blonde and don't tan easily. I am probably a few shades darker than you but also have loads of freckles. When I lived in South Africa I came back with a lovely tan because I got it slowly and over a long period of time. I also didn't let myself burn, sometimes using total sun block. Since being back in this country however I just don't tan but now I am older it doesn't bother me and I stick to faking it. If you buy a really good faking it product like St Tropez you should get a nice even and streak free tan. Also if your self-conscious about not being tanned before you go get a spray tan done and by the time it fades you should have a base colour.
Reply:i dont think you will be able to tan--your skin is very, very fair. but in all honesty, i think your skin is beautiful... it's clear and porcelain--a lot of people would be envious of it!
Reply:I'm paler than you but for my display picture which you see i add a warming effect to make me look tanned lol.

I've never had a real tan but looking at your auburn hair ( same as mine) you will burn real quickly.

Factor 30 and above for you
