I NEVER friggen tan! I'm either red or white! I use the self tanning lotion, but its a pain in the ****! I really want to try a tanning booth, but I'm afraid I'll just burn. Will I burn? Should I just stick to my lotion?
Tanning booths for people with fair skin?
I've been tanning since I was 16 (nothing to brag about). I'm fair skinned by nature (they call me the white Latina) and I hated self tanners too which is why I chose the tanning bed method. Here are the facts (my mother-in-law owns a tanning salon). If you are fair skinned and do not tan in the sun, you are HIGHLY unlikely to tan in a tanning bed. If you burn and DO NOT tan in the sun, you WILL burn and NOT tan in a tanning bed. These are the facts. If you go to any reputable tanning salon, they will give you a form to fill out and either advise you not to, or let you tan 2-3 minutes at a time. OR, they will straight out tell you NO you will not tan. I would recommend a spray tanning booth. A lot of salons are offering this. My mother-in-law has quite a few clients who come in and do this rather than run the risk of skin cancer (yes tanning beds ARE as bad as the sun). Good luck!

I would stick to lotion. I have the same problem - i used to use holiday skin but after a while it went horrible, i now use dove summer glow its alot better. You should try it :)
Reply:If you have fair skin you will almost certainly burn from a tanning bed. Plus why subject your poor skin to such abuse??? If the lotion is a pain in the **** try mysitc tan, spray-on tan that is done professionally so it comes out evenly, it's relatively inexpensive and they are starting to offer it in more and more tanning places.
Reply:Spray on tan machine.
Reply:Go to a salon that does spray tans. They work well and you won't have to worry about getting skin cancer.
Reply:Doves tan in a bottle!
Reply:The tanning places offer spray tans. I go once a week. It's even and natural looking and I will not end up with skin cancer or age spots or wrinkles :) It looks really nice.
You can go in a tanning bed. If you are really white they will not let you stay in for long. Just ask the girl at the front desk what she thinks. They know if the bulbs in the beds are new or not.
I recommend the spray or mistic tan. It looks like you just got back from Mexico not the Wanka shop.
Reply:You should stick with not even trying. That is, unless you really do want to develop all kinds of skin cancers.
Reply:Yes, the only way is to start out very slow. It will be frustrating, because it will seem like you aren't getting any tan. Give it time, and you will develop a nice tan, but just take it slow. 5 min at first, do that for a week, then move up to 7 or 8; it is slow, but you will tan instead of burn.
good luck!
Reply:Don't do it! Will result in skin cancer, age spots, spider veins, wrinkles and all kinds of awful things.
Reply:Try the Mystic tan. I doesn't turn you orange and you won't have to worry about your skin looking like shoe leather by the time you're 40.
Reply:Don't do it!!!! Tanning booths are addictive and regular use promotes the big C. Definitely not worth it. Why not be "Pale and Interesting" it's just as cool as having a tan.
Reply:do a mystic tan. i love them. they are cheap, quick and have excellent results
Reply:If you're fair skinned like me, chances are you can't tan very easily. I've tanned in regular tanning beds every day for 2 months %26amp; never got a noticable tan. My mom is fair skinned too and swears by the high pressure tanning beds but they're WAY more expensive. I personally haven't tried them though. I've gone the self tanning lotion route off %26amp; on for years but I've never been totally satisfied with the results. I also tried the Mystic Tan thing where you stand in the booth and get spray tanned. It's ok but I still had some streaks. If you don't stand perfect you can come out looking like a zebra. lol I just recently started getting airbrush tanned though and I LOVE it. It's great having someone else stand there applying the stuff to you, getting it even, and getting the spots that are hard for you to reach or see. It's a little pricey, but in my opinion it's well worth it. Especially for someone like me who just can't tan the natural way. I look and feel so much better since I've been doing it. Besides, it's safer for you too cuz it doesn't cause cancer. Good luck getting tan!
